My Model, Mia

It seems like forever since I have just done a practice shoot and I was feeling in need of one today, so after voting this morning, Mia and I headed to the lake to take some pictures. Wow! You would have thought it was winter. We nearly froze, so we quickly moved on to our favorite park, which seemed about 20 degrees warmer. Mia was working the camera this morning. She was so funny, trying all these different poses, and then tripping over her feet because she couldn't find her balance. Oh, my funny girl. We enjoyed a beautiful walk around our favorite park... me snapping shots in between, of course... it turned out to be a beautiful fall morning.

I wanted a quick way to post-process these, so I used a Rebecca Lily preset on almost every photo. I found a perfect preset for each one.

We have Kara's six-month post-placement visit with our social work tomorrow. I can't believe we are already working on this! Actually, we are just past four months of the actual adoption date and just three days shy of four months home, but I wanted to make sure we were early enough that the report would arrive in China on time. We love our social worker. We don't see her often, but with two homestudies and a total of six post-placement reports, it seems she knows our family better than immediate relatives. I'm looking forward to introducing her to Kara.

Oh I had to comment on your photos. They're simply amazing. You're daughter loves the camera unlike my tot. wait till you see what I captured today LOL.

I'm sure your HS will go fantastically (is that a word).

Kara is a lovely precious gem! I just smile to myself thinking how lucky she is to be part of your family.

Enjoy! Great photos!

The photos are beautiful Michelle....I love all the fall folliage and the processing was awesome!!

I have two sessions this weekend......I am a little nervous because one of them is a family of four. Usually I am just working with the kiddos....should be interesting to have Mom and Dad in the shots too!!

Hope you have a great week!

Michelle,

I, too, have had a tough time getting around blogland, but am so glad I stopped by here now. I LOVE the pics...especially the 2nd one. You're getting to be quite the professional photographer.
