The girls are napping, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to post some pictures of a play date we had this morning with a long-time friend and her four kids. It's funny how it takes time for the kids to warm up around each other. Leila has played with the oldest three several times, but it has been a long time since we have had a play date. (Sorry, Jill!) The kids played separately at first, but then had a great time playing together about an hour later.
Thanks, Jill and family for a fun morning!
Leila asked me if we could get together again soon!
"Hey, Mommy. Do you think my suit is too tight? Why do these 'rolls' look so cute on me?" :-)
Leila is Mia's favorite pillow.
The whole gang.
Rolling down the hill at the end of our play date.
We're headed back to the lake tonight for another picnic. I hope we can find a new spot!
In addition to running my own photography business, I am a proud mother to three beautiful girls that were born in my heart, and a wife to my wonderful husband of 17 years. We adopted Leila from Moscow, Russia at 32-months old and Mia from Jiangsu Province, China at 13-months old. We thought we were done at two, until God led us on another journey to China - this time to bring home our 11-year old daughter, Kara Da Xin in July 2009. I am also the proud Aunt of two nephews, born in Guatemala, and a niece, born in China. I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father for blessing our family with these amazing children.
This is a very special necklace I had made to keep my children close to my heart. On the left, it says "family" in Russian. On the right, it says, "mother and daughter joined at the heart" in Chinese. I love this piece of jewelry and how it always reminds me of our journey to bring home our three precious girls.
