After my last post and realizing how badly the girls were overdue for a haircut, I scheduled appointments for Leila and Kara asap after my morning photo session had to cancel yesterday. If you have a girl and have never heard about Sweet & Sassy, you should check it out. It is one of those places, like American Girl, where I walk in and think, "Why didn't I think of this?" (Franchising opportunities are available, ladies.) This is their new favorite place for haircuts, thanks to the Hannah Montana blaring loudly, the glitter hair spray and all the girly things you can buy, not to mention manicures, pedicures and runway birthday parties. Both girls got at least 4" cut off their length and I love their new "dos"...especially Leila's new bob. I'm so tired of seeing ponytails, I can't even tell you. I didn't have time for Mia to get hers done yesterday, but I'll take her in this week.
Don't they look much better? Now, I just need to make MY appointment!!
In addition to running my own photography business, I am a proud mother to three beautiful girls that were born in my heart, and a wife to my wonderful husband of 17 years. We adopted Leila from Moscow, Russia at 32-months old and Mia from Jiangsu Province, China at 13-months old. We thought we were done at two, until God led us on another journey to China - this time to bring home our 11-year old daughter, Kara Da Xin in July 2009. I am also the proud Aunt of two nephews, born in Guatemala, and a niece, born in China. I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father for blessing our family with these amazing children.
This is a very special necklace I had made to keep my children close to my heart. On the left, it says "family" in Russian. On the right, it says, "mother and daughter joined at the heart" in Chinese. I love this piece of jewelry and how it always reminds me of our journey to bring home our three precious girls.
