Weekend Festivies & Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday, honey!! You are such an amazing father and a wonderful, supportive and caring husband. We are so blessed to have you in our lives. I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow - a day as special as you.

Your four girls wish you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Nolan loves the digital frames we have in our house, so the girls bought him one for his office. We couldn't wait until his birthday tomorrow to open the presents.Large (1 of 1)-18
And just a few random pics from this weekend. I took Mia and Kara to a kite-making event with a visiting Chinese artist yesterday morning. I had envisioned kites flying high in the air, not ones with 3-foot strings, but it was still a great event and we had lots of fun. Kara also got to meet some new friends that she will get to know better in her Chinese dance class that starts next month. And several people there spoke Mandarin, which is always a great thing.

Today, we enjoyed a picnic at our church. The food was great, the games were fun, the horse rides were perfect, but boy, was it COLD!!! Brrrrrrrrr!!! I had planned on taking our family photos tonight, but it was far too cold for the girls to wear their sleeveless dresses, so Nolan and I went out to dinner for his birthday instead. Our first date night in what seems like a very long time.

Mia gets a little help from her sisters. They are such good big sisters.

And they are off to the horses!

Mia's first pony ride. (Actually, a big horse, not a little pony!) She has always been too scared to ride the ponies at the zoo or fairs, but she got to ride with Leila today and that made all the difference in the world. She loved it and ended up riding again about an hour later.

A wonderful pastor who delivers a powerful message followed by a great family picnic.... Have I mentioned lately that I just LOVE my church!?!?!?!

Happy Birthday, Nolan! And sometimes - just sometimes, mind you - I wish our teeny, tiny church with no building was a bit larger so we could have fun days like that. Glad y'all had such a great time of fellowship.
