Guangzhou Final Day - Part 2

Ok, so I fibbed. I decided to post a couple more pics before I head to bed. Nolan took the girls to the roof top pool tonight, while I packed up our things. Our travel agency put us up at the Victory this time, and the only pool is on the roof top - 9 stories up. Yes, I can see why parents with little kids do not like it. You have to make sure they don't "across" the railings and all. (Actually, pretty scary.) It made for some pretty cool pictures, though.

Now, I'm officially off to bed.

LOVE these photos. I didn't know that the Victory had a roof-top pool. I'd love to take photos there. Then again, with a little one and a Tongginator in tow, perhaps not. I'm loving following your journey, Michelle. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

I always wondered what that pool looked like. We stayed at the Victory and never went up there.

I have followed your blog for some time and believe I have commented before. We just returned home from China with our son on 4/5 and he is 10 also. Our agency is ASIA also. It is uncanny - our son's behavior sounds very similar to Kara's. Our son's favorite word (not as much now) is "NO." He is very independent (he was not in foster care, but in the orphanage since birth) and can be stubborn. He also pouts when he does not get his way. He is very, very sweet and we love him dearly, but our transition has not been without it's challenges. He also fakes "illnesses" when he wants attention or is jealous of his sister. We had an incident at school where he and another student ran into each other in the gym - I'm not sure what happened but when he went to the nurse's office he "performed" his act where he rolls his eyes back into his head like he is fainting. The nurse thought he was having a seizure! I know they thought I was probably callous, but he has done this several times before. Anyway, I don't mean to cause you any alarm, but I think this might be some common behavior. Overall we are thrilled with his transition, he did great in school (far ahead in math)and bonded well with his younger sister (she is 3 and adopted from China at 10 months). If you would like to email me I'd love to chat. I don't blog. shorescynthia@yahoo.com. Congratulations!!
