We started our morning getting the visa photo and medical exam completed. Oh my - it was crazy busy at the medical examination place. I don't remember it being like that last time. We were there for more than two hours. Kara took her 5 immunizations like a champ. She just stuck her arm out and took all the shots without a flinch. She said they hurt, but she didn't seem bothered by the needles. With two other kids terrified of needles, I am so not used to that! Afterwards, we went to Lucy's for lunch. Oh, how we love Lucy's. Our little oasis of comfort in a faraway land. Fortunately, I think Kara liked it as well as we did, so she won't mind going back. Yay!! We spent the afternoon with our travel group at a beautiful garden, but once again, it was raining. We didn't really get to explore the beautiful area. We hopped back on our bus and went to an indoor mall. We all ended up buying some pearls - me buying a necklace for each of the three girls. Kara has shared her dislike of all things jewelry now, but I hope she changes her mind when she gets older.
Tonight was a group dinner at the Cow and Bridge. It was a great meal until dessert. They serve tomatoes in their ice cream. Can I just say nasty?!?!
Right now, the girls are curled up watching Mulan in Mandarin. Kara is laughing hysterically at this movie. I just love hearing her laugh. I can't wait until we can really start communicating with each other. That will make things so much easier on all of us.
I am sure I will be posting more photos of the girls and the Guangzhou statues. Kara wanted to stop and pose with every one of them this morning, but we only passed by a few. She was so animated and funny trying to mimic their poses.

Ahhhh, isn't Guangzhou WONDERFUL??? It felt a bit like paradise, especially after cold, smoggy Taiyuan!
Glad you all are having a good time - I loved Cow & Bridge, and it's so much fun recognizing some of those same spots (like all the statues). Kara looks like such a ham! I love seeing her personality in all of these photos!!!!

Fabulous! So glad the girls are getting along so well. :) I bet the language barrier is difficult...glad Wally World came in handy to get the translators! Great idea! Can't wait to meet Kara! :) If you Skype your mom tell her I can take Mia for a day if she needs a reprieve! We can go to the pool. Hello to Nolan and Leila!

She seems like a good girl! Arden didn't care for jewerly at first either, but does now. I don't think it was ever top priority before when they would have rathered had a tooth brush and the things we take for granted.

Glad she didn't react to all of those vaccinations. The Tongginator is one who would get a fever, swell up at the site of the injection and sleep for days. Sigh.
Things seem to be going so well. I can't believe how photogenic both girls are. They seem like they have been together for years!
