How to Catch a Leprechaun

As researched by a First Grader and her Mommy on the Internet...

Step 1) Lure him with some good ol' Irish music.

(No making fun of our little guy, please. I mean, do you know what a Leprechaun's ears look like?) ;)

2) Snare him with a pot of gold.

3) Freeze him in his tracks by locking eyes with him.

Steps 1, 2 & 3 = One very proud first grader of her class project.

Leila is setting her trap, along with her classmates, at the end of school today.

Hmmmm.... just wondering if she's going to catch a little green guy. The locked eyes just have to be foolproof. I mean, seriously, Mr. W*ikipedia said so!

Happy Early St. Patrick's Day to all my Irish friends!!

Aw Michelle, the box is so cute! I'm sure a leprochaun will not be able to resist those eyes! Looks like you're having some warmer temps there too! Let's here it for Spring!

Oh, this made me SMILE. My momma used to take us all on leprechaun hunts on March 17. We always thought we saw one, but we only ever really saw what they left behind (gold glitter in the bushes).

And proud she should be! That was so cool.

very cute! I always set up my classroom to look like a leprechaun came for a visit. The kids love it. Especially the green peppermint scented tinkle he leaves in the toilet lol!

What an absolutely cute idea!! Down in Maryland my 4th graders get to celebrate St. Patty's day by taking their state assessment exam - fun huh?? I think the scheduling is no fun at all, as I have some cute St. Patty's ideas we are supposed to do...

Oh well, Happy St. Pat's day to you, Nolan and the girls!!

Very, very cute! One of my favorite grade school memories was when a leprochaun rummaged through our room while we were away. He left green goo everywhere and overturned our desks. Naughty leprochaun:)

What a darling project! I bet those first graders had a blast doing that!!! I am on Spring Break and was sooo bummed not to be at school on St. Pat's Day, as I always do it up.

You're so creative, Michelle! That box is just perfect and Leila looks so proud of it. She is such a beautiful little girl!

Your girls are beautiful and I can hardly wait to see the face of your newest family member!

Our two are adopted too. One domestic and one from China, Gotcha day 3/14/2005. Just celebrated her 5th birthday.
