My Little Helper

I have found the perfect task to keep my 2 1/2 year-old occupied while I unload the groceries from the car and put them away. Mia loves to help me pull the grapes off the stem. I normally put her on the counter and she and I both work on them together. Yesterday, I washed her hands, set the strainer on the counter and gave her the whole bag of grapes and she did it all on her own while I put the groceries away. She did an excellent job, too! Not one bit of stem left on those grapes. She was so proud of herself. (And so was I!) Of course, I had to take a few breaks from the groceries to take some photos of my cute little helper.

Of course, part of the fun is digging in and playing with them when they're done.

Great idea! I normally put Jia on the counter too but generally only when we're making something. I'll have to give your idea a try!

By the way, we're gutting our kitchen soon and recently finalized the plans. I had to laugh when you initially posted photos of your kitchen because our draft plan looks quite similar! Can you tell me what kind of granite you have when you have a moment? I'm still debating right now but my top choice looks the same as what you have...

I like your new header. I LOVE the other one because it was so unique but I completely understand needing a change/ Spring cleaning hits me too sometimes.
This one is very special as well:) You are SO talented! I can tell you put alot of work into it!

What a sweetie she is!!! At that age, the Tongginator would have CRUSHED those grapes and then smiled at me. LOL.

Oh my...what beautiful girls you have! And....what a fabulous idea to let Mia "pick' the grapes for you!! I am going to remember that! She looks so happy and proud...and the fact that she was REALLY helping makes it even sweeter!!

Hi Michelle!

She IS a cute little helper!!! Does she eat along the way when she helps in the kitchen? That is what my little helper does! : )

Have a great day!!

Oh my goodness! What cuteness! And thanks for the tip on taking the grapes off the stems ahead of time, the only thing is that with my 3 little "helpers", they'd probably eat at they pull them off and we'd have nothing left. :)

Hugs and thank you for the prayers.

Mia is too darling for words and it is nice that she's your sweet little helper. I find that Lindy craves to have little jobs and tasks in the kitchen and sometimes I let my agenda get in the way of letting her help. This is a great task that I hadn't thought of. Thanks for bringing the simple, important things to light, Michelle!

Hugs,
Lisa

Wonderful fun to see that. And I wonder if she ate many while she did that. I know I would. : )

What a wonderful idea. I will try that with Eli.
I just don't think your girls could be anymore beautiful. I love those photos of them together in their matching dresses. Stunning!

I'm definitely going to try this one, though Addie might spend more time eating than picking!
Love the zoo pics....they are beautiful!

So sweet Michelle. I have just started letting Ella help me with this task. If Lily helped me, they would be all over the floor. Mia did a great job.

That is darling. I will remember that with Ella-she loves to be a big helper and grapes. I wanted to tell you that I went back and showed Ella all the little girls with their Livi Lu on-Ella thought that was pretty cool. Hug Leila tight-they grow up so fast...first grade one day and you turn around to high school graduation.

Hey Michelle~

It's me again. Do you mind me asking the name of your granite countertop? It looks similar to ones we've been considering...

Thanks!
