OK, so I don't have a lot to blog about and not many photos to post, so I thought I'd ask a question that I'm curious about these days...
Does every child go through a phase where they are obsessed with B*andaids? The photo below was taken yesterday and is typical of most days. Mia didn't have so much as a scratch, yet she is always making up imaginary boo boos so she can wear one...
or two... or three. That is, until she gets bored and peels them off and leaves them all over the house. I remember that Leila did the same thing when she was younger. I know it's a phase, but I just don't like the waste. Of course, I have considered moving them out of her reach, but then the alternative would just be a whole lot of begging and whining. (This is one of those pick your battles things.) So... my question is: Is this just
my children?

This must be a thing with all children, Dalton did it and now Adalyn does it. She wants it on and two minutes later she wants it off. She says it feels better already mommy, if we only healed that quickly.
I used to say that bandaids were only for bleeding, but then an attachment therapist said that treating "hurts," whether pretend or not, is a great way to bond with a child. I changed my tune and figured what the heck! Now we have Jia visit Dr. Mama every night and she shows me all her owies and they all get kisses and fun bandaids. I figure this phase won't last forever and we might as well make something out of it!
Too cute! My little brother used to fake getting hurt to get a banaid! I love the pix it is toooooo cute!
That's funny! Mar'yana,(4) just went through an entire box of Hello Kitty Bandaids and then hid the waste in her bathroom sink cabinet. I am still finding those pink bandaids. Alex is allergic to bandaids, otherwise I think we'd be seeing twice the bandaid fetish.
I am so happy to hearv that other children are like this. Emilee is obsessed with band-aids. Every five min. " Mommy I have a boo boo". One day she got into the box herself and she looked like a mummy
I must be all or most kids. Bella and her friends are the same way~ at least they were. I stopped buying the cute band-aids and that kind of brought the 'need' down. Also I would get a look of true concern and ask "do you think we should have Dr. Mike look at it", she would then reply "no, I think it is fine". What am I going to do when she catches on to all my moves?!?!?
have a wonderful weekend,
Krista
NO, my Lucy is in that phase too! Her favorite band-aids are the Hello Kitty ones, so EVERY time she even bumps herself, she says (or whines!) "I neeeeed Hello Kitty!". Between this and her bag lady phase, I may go CRAZY!!
Yep, I think they do. Have you read the Salsa twin blog? The 2 of them are doing this too (mom is using bandaids as toys these days, they even bandage up their dolls!).
LOL! We share the same obsession at our house! I guess it must be pretty normal!
Definately the same around here too! So funny!
What cute feet :0) Whenever Olivia sees me wearing a band-aid, she has to wear 1 too. But it never stays on & so she needs another 1.
