Country Club Camping

AKA Camping for Wimps. Last night, we participated in an annual camp out event held at the club. It started with a cookout, followed by games, swimming, a bonfire and then a camp out. We had not done it before, so here we come hauling this dinky made-for-two tent and set it up next to these super-sized monster tents - some with four separate bedrooms. I had no idea they even made those! Mia and I stayed for the food, fun and games, but left before the bonfire and camp out. (Reason A: Mia would have woken everyone up at 5:00 a.m. IF she was able to get to sleep at all and Reason B: I admit it. I'm a super wimp when it comes to camping - even if it's on the ninth fairway!) We weren't sure if Leila would make it through the night, but she was so exhausted by the time everyone got settled in their tents that she fell asleep as quickly as her head hit the pillow. Unfortunately, my dear husband who was trying to have a nice father/daughter evening was kept awake most of the night by snoring in their neighboring tent and some noisy kids that didn't want to go to sleep. (Sorry, honey!) It was a really great time, though, and Leila and Nolan are already talking about next year's event. Apparently, Mia and I have been voted to stay over next year.

What a view. Really roughing it, huh? :-)072608 Camping Tent for Two

Leila hauled this air mattress all the way from the car, up the hill to our "camp site." Mia plopped right down on it and I snapped this pic.

Just in case you noticed, we had a change of clothing. Mia had a little "accident." (Fortunately, only #2 in a month and a half since wearing BGPs.) Thankfully, I had an extra set of clothing in the car.

I would love to know if there is any scholarship money in hula hooping. Here is Leila doing four at once. I can't even do one!

Even complete exhaustion didn't stop the girls from enjoying today's Family Fun Day at our church. There were tons of inflatables, a dunking booth (Leila's fav!), pony rides and much more.

Blue snow cones come with matching blue teeth.

If I'm pretty quiet this week, it's because we have VBS all week. I'm so excited that they are allowing Mia to attend, even though she's not three, since I'm volunteering with that age group. I can't wait to see her try to do the songs and dances! ;-)

I am cracking up! You and I completely think alike. I am such a sissy when it comes to camping. I love the idea of camping at the club. That is a great idea. Our club is not that family friendly: (
Basically, pay your dues and get access to the facilities. I like how yours involves all the family members.

Good for Leila for making it through the night. She must be an outdoorsy girl : ) And her hula hoop skills...wow!

I am excited to hear more about your VBS and see pics from your week.

Have a blessed experience!

PS-I'll see if I can upload a video of my dancing diva to youtube and post it to the blog.

Hi Michelle!

4 hula hoops....oh, my goodness! That is talent and there should be a scholarship for it.

I LOVE the picture of Mia and her snow cone. Her eyes just sparkle and she has the sweetest expression on her face.

I am with you about the camping. I do not care for it at all! We have done it a few times, but I so did not enjoy it. : )

Hope you have a great week!!!

Too funny..what a great idea for the neighborhood. I need to suggest that for ours. We have movie nights on the outside of our clubhouse but an overnight would be great! Looked like a good time was had by all...blue teeth and all!

Fun! I got Jia some camping stuff for her upcoming birthday. We're going to try the backyard first!

I'm a wimp too as I don't like feeling grubby...or bugs...or sleeping without my white noise machine! Yes, we'll be doing "easy" camping.

You and I are apparently alot alike. Mallory had begged us to "camp out" when Ron won a tent. So we agreed and set it up in our back yard. Yep, that's the extent of our camp out. I even got up in the middle of the night to go to my bed and left Ron and Mallory outside in the tent. The air mattress was just not comfortable to me. :)
I love all of the pics you took! The family fun day at church looked like a blast as well!

Too funny! I have not heard of Country Club camping before! I would be right there with you going home to my own bed Michelle! I like the comforts of my own bedroom too...no bugs, pure comfort and it is quiet....ahhhh...

I won a small tent last year so we have introduced Sophie to bedroom camping on special occasions! We just pop up the tent in her room...She loves it...perhaps you will need to introduce bedroom camping to your girls too.....must say the parents love this kind of camping!! Have a great week!

So funny! We just had a little camp out the other night also. I set the air mattress out on the back screened porch and Isabella and her daddy ended up sleeping out there by themselves too. I went upstairs to my comfy bed!!! Isabella on the other hand thought it was the best thing!
