We're Home!

We arrived home safely at 7:30 a.m. yesterday morning. We quickly ate some breakfast and headed for bed and slept until 1:30 p.m. Leila arrived shortly after and we have been enjoying being a family of four - even though there have been a few jealous moments mixed in. We are still very exhausted and our internal clocks are messed up. Mia must have thought last night was nap time because she woke up after a couple of hours ready to play. Needless to say, Nolan and I desperately needed a good night's rest but we didn't get it.

Mia did great on the long plane ride from Guangzhou to LA. She slept most of the flight. She did well, but not as well, on the flight from LA to Columbus. Jack Hanna may have to agree, as he was in the seat directly behind me. She just whined a little, though. We had some great tail winds. The flights totalled 23 1/2 hours to Beijing, but only took a little over 16 hours on the way home. It was still a L O N G way home with the flights and layovers.

Mia seems to adore her big sister. I am in the kitchen where they are both holding a concert - Leila on the piano (in her new Chinese silk dress) and Mia with a morocca. They are quite the dynamic duo. Leila has been a great big sister - helping feed her the bottle and even helping with the diapers, which she swore she didn't want any part of. She has had a few moments of reality that she is no longer an only child, but overall, she enjoys playing the big sis role.

I'll post photos at a later time... when I'm more caught up on sleep. If you have been following our journey on our blog, we'd love to hear your comments to put them in Mia's scrapbook.
