Moon Pies & Glow Sticks

We had such a nice weekend. This was the first relaxing weekend we've had in a while... and we needed some downtime. Yesterday morning, the girls and I tested out the facepaint for their Halloween costumes. It was Kara's first time getting her face painted. (Shocking, I know, that she has been home for nearly three months and this is the first time I pulled out the face paint!) I'll post pictures from our little pre-Halloween demo soon.

Last night, we enjoyed the Chinese Autumn Moon Festival with our local FCC group. I am definitely writing Santa to have him bring Kara and Mia these things! They were the hit of the evening. I think Mia walked around on these non-stop for more than an hour.

But the real highlight of the evening was after we returned home. I pulled out my stash of glow sticks and the girls played in our backyard using them to set up obstacle courses, toss and chase them around the yard and other fun glow-in-the-dark activities. Of course, we just had to revive our Hannah Montana concert "do" and put some in their hair. :)

But no weekend is complete without a little soccer. Here's our goalie Star of the Day. I love watching her play forward, but she just seems to be a natural fit for goalie. She really does a great job in this position. Now would someone please tie her shoes?!? ;)

I hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend, too! Have a great week!

What a fun weekend! Mia and Kara look like they love those "walkers". Santa will definitely have to bring them some of those.

Way to go, Leila! She looks like a natural on the field!

Beautiful photos of beautiful girls!

This is probably belated, but I love the new sidebar of the girls. Beautiful treasures!

What a great festival! Those lanterns are terrific.

Our FCC one is coming up and it apparently involves the traditional stuff plus Chinese pop music and hair styling (?). Sounds like fun whatever it is.
