In my last post, I announced my new title: SAHM. It is one that I am quite proud to wear, but since I've been working since I was 14, it's a hard one to get used to. I am hoping to start a little something on the side that will not interfere with my family time. And I emphasize little. I did my first "real" photo shoot last night shooting senior portraits. I had a major case of the butterflies all afternoon. If my blog has not expressed this clearly enough, I am a M.A.J.O.R. perfectionist. Always striving for perfection, always falling very short. I so wanted my clients to be happy, so I was putting a lot of pressure on myself. (Which I am oh, SO good at!!) Plus, I was shooting a GUY! I am so used to asking my three girls to be ladylike -I had no experience with men. But, he was great and I am pleasd to say I was thrilled with how the photos turned out. It was such a huge relief to come home last night and download photos that actually put a smile on my face. The client is happy and so am I. Whew!!! What a relief. I wish I could post some of the pics here, but I didn't think to ask them for permission ahead of time, so I don't feel comfortable doing so. Instead, I'll post some pics from a fun play date Mia and I had last week with my friend Faye and her two darling daughters, Alex and Abby. We went to an ice cream factory and took a tour of how ice cream was made and then had to buy some samples, of course! And they sold lollipops, too! What a perfect treat for two Mamarazzis. :)
I just think Alex has the most delicate, darling features.

Michelle, Congrats on your new job!!! It is the BEST job to have. Your picturs are wonderful!! The girls are adorable. Have fun with your new position!
Congrats on your new SAHM status! You will have a blast!
Cute pictures of the girls! I love the black t-shirts!
Hope you have a great week!
All 3 girls look so adorable in those photos.
Hi Michelle,
I think it is fabulous that you are starting a little side business.....I know that you will do a fantastic job. Your photos are always beautiful!!
The girls looks so cute....I love all the outfits and the lollipops:)
I, like you, have had a job since the age of 15, I think staying at home would take some getting used too. I bet it feels wierd not to get up and get decked out in the business attire, but it must be nice to be there for the girls each and every day!
Have a great week!
Lisa
Congrats on your new career! And it will probably take some getting used to... the transition didn't really start to hit me until long about week five - when I realized This? Is. It. It's the most rewarding thing I've ever done though.
Well, I for one, was waiting on the day you started a photography business. You do such an amazing job and I know your clients will always be so thrilled.
LOVE the outfits all three girls are wearing!! Gorgeous girlies :)
Your pictures are gorgeous! I need to get that "Black is the new pink" T-Shirt for my Chloe. She keeps asking me to make a pink and black dress.
I am so happy for your new adventure in life as a SAHM and photographer. I would love to follow in your shoes, but I am just too scared. I am keeping my job as long as they will have me. It's hard to walk away from health insurance and a great retirement program, not to mention a great salary.
Looks like so much fun!
Looks like fun and congrats on the first "job"! My mom is doing better - her white counts have doubled and hopefully she will be able to come home within the next 4 days. I know she is sick of being in the hospital....
Blessings and hope you all have a great week, Ashley
PS - wish you lived somewhere close and I would love to have you do our engagement pictures - I have always loved the way you capture pictures - probably my favorite!
Good for you!! I know you'll do so well... can't wait to see the senior pics :)
These pictures are darling, looks like a fun photo shoot!
Was there any doubt ever you'd be awesome at photography?
In the meantime, we never, ever tire of seeing your beautiful girls!
Michelle I've been a SAHM now for a little over 6 years and it truly is the best 'job' I've ever had. I'll confess it took me a while to transition from my identity as an RN to a full time mom. I have no regrets whatsover!
And congrats on your official first photoshoot with a client! You are a talented photographer and I know you will do well...you have such a beautiful style. BTW I have several families I'm taking pics of in about a month and I'm already getting butterflies...
oh the girls are SOO SOO CUUUUUUUTE:)
Congrats on the success!
You are sooo lucky to be a SAHM! I did it for a while and never had a dull moment! I can tell you are a perfectionist by your blog. The pictures, words and even spelling is always perfect. Guess that's one reason I'm drawn to follow your blog, 'cause I have perfectionist tendencies, too! (Also, b/c I can tell you're a Christian, and we adopted, too!)
Woo hoo, welcome to SAHM-hood! And congrats on your new "side" biz, no doubt you'll be great at it!! These pics of the girls are absolutely adorable!
I'm sure you'll do fine. My goodness, I'm ready to jump in the car and head your way to have our pictures done. Did you ever decide what color we should wear? :o)
The pictures are so cute! Great outing, ice cream and all!
I heart your new header:)
Hugs, Ashley
Congratulations on your new status!!! Someday I hope to be there (can I get an Amen?)
Looks like you pulled the girly fun off perfectly and the photos are wonderful!
The pictures are great and the little friends look so cute together.
You do an awesome job on your photos. Lucky clients.
I think you have the most beautiful family and I am thrilled to see everyone doing so well. Good Job!
Have lots of fun in your new job. It will be the hardest, but the most wonderful and the most rewarding job you could ever have.
Hi Michelle! I started reading your blog during your trip to bring Kara home and I so enjoy your journaling and pictures. I have never posted...(which kind of makes me feel like a blog stalker...) and I thought this would be an appropriate spot to introduce myself. I am Faye's cousin from Willard and I smiled to see Alex and Abby on your sight with Mya. I have enjoyed Faye's journey to bring these sweet daughters home and wanted to thank you for sharing your experience as well. You have a beautiful family and some cutie pie little nephews as well! I have 4 children myself and teach 1st grade and I just think every child is a gift from God. You are an inspiration, so full of creativity (love, love, love your photography) and you obviously give God the glory for all of your blessing. I don't leave many posts but I do feel a little less of a stalker now! :) I don't see Faye and the girls as often as I'd like, but aren't they great?? I'm glad you had such a fun-filled day! Thanks again for sharing!
