I Heart Faces: Blue

This week's I Heart Faces theme is Blue. I had just purchased this flower and hat and thought it would be perfect for the theme. Mia, of course, preferred to add her own little touch - a blue tongue. :)

Blue2 (1 of 1)

This is one of my favorite photography sites - so full of information and inspiration. If you haven't stopped by lately, pop on over and check out all of the talented photographers. You are sure to leave inspired! It is one of those sites that reminds me why I love this hobby... and also how much I have left to learn!! Speaking of which... anyone want to offer a little help? I shot these photos using an off-camera flash shot through an umbrella. This is a relatively new set-up for me and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use it. I like how the umbrella diffused the light, but I'm not lovin' the pinlight look in her eyes. Any suggestions on how to get better catchlights using an umbrella? Thanks in advance for anyone offering suggestions!!!

Scroll down to my last post to see more photos of my blue shoot with Mia.
Update: The hat and bow were purchased at bowsweet.com.

Perfect for the theme. It made me want to smile and find a ring pop all at the same time. :)

I think from what I have been reading if you turn the OCF around and bounce off of the umbrella and not through it, you will get a more round catchlight. I haven't tried it though, but maybe give it a chance.
Love the pictures!!
