Catching Up

As of last week, I officially left the job I loved (and where I spent the last 16 years!) to stay home with the girls full time. (By the way, this was my choice.) So why, oh why, do I feel busier than ever? Thanks to a crazy schedule and nursing a cold, I have barely gotten 10 minutes of computer time a day in the past week. And the time that I do have is often on my little iPhone while waiting for the girls at a soccer practice, game, doctor's appointment, dance class or Chinese class. This morning, I had an empty spot on my calendar so I cleaned out two closets, re-organized my camera gear, pulled weeds and worked outside, washed sheets and comforters and made beds, cleaned out the fridge, and tried to keep Mia entertained - and that was all before noon. This SAHM stuff is hard work!!! (Of course, I never doubted that one bit.)My little Mia helped me outside, all the time calling every weed she saw, "poison iby". Too cute!

Since I feel behind in just about everything these days, I thought I would post a few pics from our weekend at my hometown county fair.

Little Joe - Not feeling so hot that day, hence the forced smile. Definitely not flirting with the camera this day, but still, oh so cute!

Sounds like y'all HAVE been busy. I feel the same... I thought I would have so much time on my hands when the Tongginator started all-day kindergarten. Not! I am as busy as ever, especially since I start volunteering in the classroom next week. One hour a day - two weeks on, one week off, from Monday until the day before Christmas Eve. What was I thinking????

And I loved the county fair pics.

What a great idea, there is nothing better, or busier than staying at home, none of that putting your feet up and chilling stuff!!!
Great pics

Your new job sounds fun and it certainly keeps you busy. I remember those days when our children were younger. It felt like I never sat still. :-)

Hope you are feeling better and Mia too after her fall. :-)
Your pictures are great!

I'm sure you are busy -- it sure sounds like it! Beautiful photos -- that bouncing looks like fun -- but I'd be too scared to try it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend -- it's almost the weekend, right!

Ha Michelle! Your post made me chuckle!! After I left my job, I often wondered how the heck I ever had time to work!!! Be careful, I said yes too many times that first year and wound up being TOOOOO busy. I've gotten better at protecting my family time! Have fun being a SAHM!

PS- I just got an iphone and my girlfriend gave me the great suggestion of downloading books on Kindle. I always want to read but never seem to have a book with me. I just downloaded the "Memory Keepers Daughter" and have been able to read here and there as I'm waiting for kids!!! Just thought I'd mention it since you since you said that you spend time on your phone while waiting for kids!

Great pictures! I especially love the first one....nice catchlights in the eyes.

Congratulations on your decision! I am sooooooo hoping to follow in your footsteps one day. I have been at a great job for 15 years, but really need to stay on for the retirement and health coverage. I am hoping to get my own business up and running one of these days so we can move to cleaner air and better schools before my girls reach Jr High.

You have chosen the more difficult path, but definitely the more rewarding. Best Wishes.

Wow, congrats on taking on your new full time job. Being a SAHM myself is more then full time work, it's full time + some. I love being home and have been for 9 years now, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. You are so going to love pulling more weeds then you ever thought possible, that's my job this weekend. But it is very rewarding and you will not regret it.
