I am so thankful that our lives have been super-busy lately. It has kept my mind off the fact that the CCAA announced that China adoption travel will be delayed due to the H1N1 virus. I don't know what this really means to us yet, but it doesn't sound like we will be traveling in late June or July as we had been planning. I don't know how much we will be delayed, but I know God is in control and I have placed my trust in Him. I will say that I think of Da Xin all the time and can't wait to bring her home, but I understand these measures were taken to protect us. In the meantime, we're going to keep praying for Da Xin, our travel, all the other waiting families dealing with the same thing, and for the medical field's ability to quickly control the spread of this virus.
Some of our weekend activities included Mia's Chinese class.
And soccer.
And more soccer. And filming of soccer.
And then a break from soccer to fit in a date night. How nice.
And then back to soccer. And mud.
And occasional breaks. And then back to soccer.
I am so proud of the progress Leila has made recently. Nolan told her that she could earn a scoop of ice cream for every time she used her fancy footwork she has been practicing. Well, we lost count at how many times she used her moves during the game, so we settled on three scoops. As a first-time triple scooper, she was quite proud of herself, too.
We have a really fun week planned and I'm looking forward to it! Just keeping busy... just keeping busy....

Sorry to hear about a possible delay of travel. But, at least you're busy..but I know that sometimes doesn't help. Great pics of soccer. Looks like she's having a great season!
Fun photos of your busy weekend! She is doing awesome at soccer! Sorry to hear that travel may be delayed. Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear about travel, that is heart breaking. I hope this passes quickly so they get back on schedule soon.
Love the soccer shots, my girls didn't get to play last week (our whole area is practically shut down because of the flu). Way to go on the triple scooper! That must be some seriously fancy footwork. :)
Have a good week!
Hi Michelle!
My heart goes out to all of the waiting families right now and I am sure praying that this is very temporary and under control so soon!
Looks like you had a fun week-end!! I hope that your week is a good one!!
love,
Michelle
Sorry to hear about your delay to travel, better safe then sorry. Keeping busy helps pass the time. I try to apply the same theory as we wait for a referral. Juggling two kids between their practices/games at dance, tennis, baseball, and theater practices. Keep busy....keep busy...keep busy :-)
Your pictures are great! I hope you hear news soon!
Looks like you are having a great time. I know some are being told they can still travel but have to sign a waiver. We went during the Avian flu but didn't have to sign anything....she was also our first though and so we weren't putting anyone but ourselves at risk...sooooo sorry if you are delayed!
I am just heartbroken about the delay in travel for those holding referrals or LOAs already. I'm sorry. We updated our homestudy today so that we could have our I-600A renewal. Hopefully we'll get a referral in the summer of 2010... otherwise we will have to switch to the I-800. Yuck!
I so feel for you guys waiting to travel Michelle! Waiting for a referral is hard....but I can only imagine how much harder it is once you have a picture of that sweet one! Glad you have been able to keep your mind occupied with other fun activities!
Wish my weekend was that busy. We have been stuck in rain. I hope travel is as planned and NO delays!!!!
She looks like she enjoying every bite of that triple scooper....way to go Leila!
I hope your travel is not delayed....saying a prayer for you:)

As of the news tonight, it appears that they are downplaying the flu. I hope and pray that it doesn't hold you guys up from Da Xin! Love all the soccer pics! Looks like Leila is quite an athlete (and such a cutie)!
Glad you have 2 cuties to keep you occupied. It also looks like you have a future cinematographer.
Wow! Leila loows like Mia Hamm out there! What great pictures of both the kiddos.
Michelle, I am praying hard that you get the OK to travel and bring home your precious girl.
