Weekend, Part 1

Whew!! We had a very busy, but great weekend! Busy is good, right? We started it with Nolan buying me my belated Christmas gift - a Canon 50D. I asked Nolan to hold off buying it for me at Christmas because I didn't think I was ready for it. I'm not sure I am now, but I couldn't wait to give it a try! I was all excited to get to use it at Leila's indoor soccer game on Saturday, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get any pictures during the indoor season. At indoor soccer, I have two unappealing options: Shoot through a net cage or through very scratched-up glass. Don't they know that soccer moms like to take photos of their kids??? :(

Saturday night, we hosted three overnight house guests from Liberty University. We had never met them before, but our church asked us if we would host them since they were coming up from Virginia to perform at our church. They were just amazing young men (I feel so OLD saying that!!), the girls loved them and they are SO talented! They performed some of my favorite contemporary Christian songs and they were awesome!! Who knows, someday they might be famous and we can say "we knew them when." One thing I do know, though, is that God will be using each of them in a BIG way!

Getting to know our house guests with a little Wii action

Meet the guys - Dave, Jamie & Kevin and their #1 fan
Leila was too shy to get her picture taken with them in front of the church. Mia was so sad to see her new buddies go.

After church, we headed to our local FCC group's Chinese New Year Party. I will be posting some pics in my next post. We had a great time, although we nearly had a 7-year old meltdown when we arrived because the girls stayed up late Saturday night. Fortunately, Leila rallied and ended up having a great time at the crafts tables.

Finally, we ended the weekend at the Super Bowl party at our church. We were all so exhausted, we left at the beginning of the second quarter. We are SUCH party animals!! LOL

Not a very good photo, but funny that the church had a backdrop to make it look like you were at the game.

And a special thanks to Leslie for widening my blogger template. My pictures are looking a little grainy when I post them for some reason, but that's for me to figure out. THANKS, LESLIE!! You rock!

Do here is the million dollar question - does your rear hurt after playing the Wii? Because mine totally does.

And I loved the photos. (Plus, one of my good friends attended Liberty, which is rare up here.)

We are Wii fanatics at this point, sad, I know! WHat a sweet woman to host these special young men - they probably were in their glory with your hospitality and those gorgeous little girls admiring them:)

Sounds like a great weekend.

Umm, a D50, woohoo for you!! I shoot with a slightly dilapidated Sony...a girl can dream for that D50, can't she? I cannot imagine you taking better pictures, but now, I am fascinated and cannot wait to see. I am going to PFP seminar here in April - I CANNOT WAIT!

WHich brings me to a couple of questions...I will email you those:)

Have a great week, friend.
Love,
Heather
