Move Over Bunny Hill

It's back to work tomorrow, but we had such a nice long weekend. I hope you did, too! Ours was a great mix of activities and relaxion. Yesterday, I took the girls to a CNY event put on by a local university. (Even though CNY has officially ended.) It was great to learn about their active Chinese Cultural Club, considering they are only 15 minutes away. I plan on contacting them in the future to find someone who could help us with translation when Da Xin comes home.

I loved the architecture and beautiful pipe organ in this theatre

We had such a great day skiing today. Leila and Mia LOVED skiing, which made it enjoyable for Nolan and I to ski while they were busy having fun in ski school. Of course, we did have to take a few breaks to go over and watch them.

They both got into face paint markers before they even hit the slopes, so they skiid all day with smeared paint all over their faces. I am sure people wondered what type of skin condition Mia had. She had every color in the rainbow smeared into her entire face, and it didn't get much better when the instructors tried to clean her up. That's my girl!

Three women stopped me to ask how old Mia was. They couldn't believe how well she was skiing. She didn't make it past the bunny hill, but we thought she did really well.... especially for a first timer.

This was the part of the day that I had been dreading. Leila advanced past the bunny hill and went onto a bigger one. AND ON THE CHAIR LIFT!!! I saw tons of kids on the lifts today, but this over-protective mama just wanted to go slap a seat belt right on her. The instructor went up with her the first time, but then she went on her own. sniff sniff.

And there she goes..............

Ahhhhhh... my baby keeps growing up on me.

These are GREAT pics, Michelle! I cannot get over how good your girls are on skis! I would be terrified too, to see a little one on the lift. Sniff sniff is right!
Your girls are SO beautiful!

Great pictures!!! That's awesome that your girls are learning to ski so young. My boys all snowboard but my little ones (my girls) have never gone....I'm not very brave. Looks like a fantastic time for all!!!!

Look at Mia going down that slope! She looks like she's going so fast. The one and only time I've gone skiing I saw kids her age and we called them "Kamikaze Kids" because they couldn't turn or slow down, you just had to get out of their way or they'd ski right over you. :-) It was pretty funny and they so rarely fell down... unlike me unfortunately.

They both look very comfortable shushing down the slopes!!! Ahhh...I would be worried about that lift too...so hard to let go, isn't it??? Thank goodness we can do it in baby steps along the way...

Looks like the skiing was great! I miss it so much-I had back surgery 3 years ago and haven't been able (or gusty enough)to try again. But growing up in snowy Buffalo, I definitely miss it!!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the first picture of Mia - it is awesome!!

By accident I posted the same comment twice, so I deleted the second one :)

Ahhhh, no not the lift! I cannot tell a lie - I HATE skiing. My poor girls do not stand a chance of getting on those death rails:) Because I competed in dance, our instructor implored us not to do "dangerous" activites, yeah, we'll blame it on that:) Your girls are naturals!! And you captured them beautifully...what a great way to spend the long weekend. Good for them, for doing so well.

Have a great week.
Love,
Heather

WOW, looks like they are doing great skiing! My 10 year old son can't wait to get Addie on on the slopes...though he insists she will be a "boarder" like him! :)
Great pics!
