Make Way for the Gingerbread House

Last year, we participated in our club's annual Gingerbread House night. Much to Leila's dismay, our house never made it inside to display. It was banned to the garage until it finally made its way to the trash can. It had nothing to do with how it looked. For first-timers, I was very pleased with how it turned out. No, it had everything to do with the size of the base and my inability to find a place for it inside our house. Take a look at this thing... It was huge.

Our 2007 Gingerbread House

Last Year

Thankfully, the club reduced the size of it this year and our house has found a home on our kitchen counter.

Leila was 100% in charge of the decorations this year and I think she did a fine job.

What a great Gingerbread house! I think the girls did a phenominal job on it. I love that they got to completely decorate it...that's what it is all about.

It's so nice to see a family pic of you all. You are such a beautiful family! I cannot wait to see you as a family of five. I think of you guys often and hope everything is progressing nicely!
Have a great week!

Ahhh, you saved the best picture for last! What a great gingerbread house. I must admit that in my 35 + year life,(we'll just leave it at that) I've never made a gingerbread house. Maybe Leila and Mia can give me some pointers. ;)

Michelle, your pictures are always so fabulous. You can even take pictures of candy wrappers and they look fab!

Looking at this house, made me think of the cutest little book we picked up this year titled, "Mortimer and the Christmas Manger." If you have it, you would know that Mortimer would LOVE your house. It's a great book to pick up if don't have it yet. :)

Blessings,
Tisha

What a great house, Michelle and a fun family project! I love the marshmallow snow!

The comment from Tisha about the Mortimer Mouse book....I so agree! We received that book as a gift this year and it is one of my favorites!

Have a super week!!

Michelle,

Here is a link to the book:

I read about it on someone else's blog and saw it at Barnes and Noble. I was going to get it for Sloan's kindergarten class too but they already had it. Mia, especially will love it. I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up! :)
