Holiday Happenings

God Bless America

I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day weekend! We headed down to visit Nolan's family in WV, as is our typical July 4th tradition. Their parade holds the title of the "Largest Small Town Fourth of July Parade in the U.S". Leila used to think the parade was for her birthday, but she now knows (I think) that it's not just for her. ;-) Nolan grew up right along the parade route, so we just walk out the front door and watch from the front lawn. It is normally 90+ and very humid, but this year it was just rainy, rainy, rainy. Leila and Mia were so worried that it would be canceled. Fortunately for them, it wasn't and they were able to fill their bags with candy. (They really don't care about the parade itself, it's all about the candy. And being at the beginning of the parade route, most everyone is extremely generous.) Another July 4th tradition is to attend the local carnival. Here is our weekend in pictures...

Dont Rain on my parade

Gathering candy in the rain (and mud!) with a friend.

Rain Rain 2

It's official! Leila is 7. Because her birthday falls on a holiday, she always gets more than one party. Lucky girl.

What a fun day! I love their shorts and white tops. And that cake is amazing! I imagine they had a blast doing the jumping!

Can you email me at somewhereinthesun9@yahoo.com with your address for the top. I also have a question about sizing.

Loved catching up on your last few posts. Happy Birthday Leila-what a fun day to have a birthday. Your scrapbook pictures look adorable as usual. I loved hearing about your extended family-how fun to have so many international adopted children to call each other cousins. I noticed that Krista nominated you for an award...I agree with her...I love your blog-so glad I came across it.
